Chimezie Metu, who will be suiting up for USC next season, was named one of seven Southern California basketball players to receive the John R. Wooden award.
The recognition is as the Player of the Year for the CIF-SS in Division 2. Metu led his Lawndale team to the CIF-SS D2 championship game where the Cardinals lost to Anaheim Canyon.
