Coaching updates...

Sources have informed me of the following:

1. Keary Colbert is going to become the tight ends coach, with John Baxter remaining the special teams coach.

2. Defensive backs coach Ronnie Bradford is not expected to remain on staff for the upcoming season, with a change potentially coming around signing day.

3. There’s still a very real possibility that defensive line coach Kenechi Udeze won’t return.

USC technically has one vacancy left.

Gorney. This is my question

regarding the latest rankings for J.T. You said earlier in the year before reclassification to 2018 that he is the best qb regardless of class. So what happened for this to change because he’s a year younger or 3 compared to what Lawrence (looks like he’s 22) is. He didn’t bkiwbtjbriofboff if anything and J.T. plays in arguably the toughest division in football in the country. Lawrence didn’t look like the greatest thing in 20 years either. What gives? And why is Fields ranked higher. I understand his finger was hurt but does that give him the number 2 overall spot over J.T. or even Amon-Ra who dominated everyone and ever event this year? Thanks

Looking at the Stepp article...

...he indicated that he would like to be coached by Reggie Bush. I think it is time to forgive and forget. I know that would be very difficult for many Trojan alums/fans, who believe in loyalty to the school, and Reggie certainly did not appear to be loyal to the school, but maybe that is because he was being loyal to his family first, who really were the ones who created the firestorm that swept USC, following Reggie's leaving school. Perhaps many running backs in the nation, all of whom knows the name "Reggie Bush", would at the very least consider USC. Let's hope this can happen, but it may be just wishful thinking on my part.

Question for Chris and Adam on the New Depth Chart

I would love to hear both your opinions on this separately and obviously welcome any feedback from the board. If you had to analyze all this, how do you think the depth chart will play out on defense? Or what, in your opinion, is the best way to handle the depth chart? Who would you put at each position and why? It seems like we are a little overloaded at some positions and light on depth at others. Could something like this work?

wde gustin, murphy or isosefa or rector
sde iosefa betiku
nt marlon t(if healthy), pili
big de rector, tremblay, tufele
big de dorton or tremblay, tufele
ILB smith, iosefa
ILB houston or isofea, levi jones
s ross or bolden or IPM or Pollard
s tell, bolden or IPM or Pollard
cb marshall, langley, lockett johnson
cb jones, langley, locket or johnson
nickel harris, ross

The reason I put iosefa as a starter at Nwosu's old position is because I think he might be the best player on defense next year. I would not be surprised if he was drafted higher than cam smith after next year. And I think rector might go higher in the draft than gustin so he needs to be on the field somewhere too. I thought both Iosefa and Rector were a little better than gustin at the predator de position so maybe gustin could move somewhere. But where? The problem is that Gustin is probably not fast enough for Nwosu's weak side de position. And he not quite big enough for the Big DE position. Although maybe one of those positions could work. I would even consider starting Iosefa at ILB next to cam smith as those are our two best LB's.
