lets not turn this into another minimum wage thread, we already have one of those. When was the last time you made $15 per hour, what was your occupation and what was your lifestyle like?
I waited on tables when I turned 21, so I made minimum wages plus tips. Before that, I had lower paying jobs. After college, I ended up in an electrical apprenticeship(long story). I started out at a little over $9 per hour and worked my ass off. I worked as a waiter full time, worked construction full time and went to school two nights per week. I had a few hours between the construction job and the restaurant job, so I hit the gym, Took a shower, put on my tux and went to the restaurant. Lol...I can't even imagine doing that these days. I did this for 2 1/2 years. That's seven nights per week and five days per week. I considered Saturday and Sunday my days off, because I only worked one job.
I think I was making somewhere around $20 per hour after 2 1/2 years in the trade. I quit working full time at the restaurant, and went to just Saturday's and Sunday's. I did this for another 3 years. I think journeyman wages were in the mid 30s when I broke out. Long time ago, my memory is a little foggy.
Anyways...when I was making about $15 dollars per hour, I still felt the need to work another job. I had a room mate, new car, but didn't travel or have expensive hobbies...or time to spend money. Lol
