Not sure why the sky is falling??
If Betiku, Pittman, Nathan Smith, Josh Imatorbhebe, and CJ Pollard had not been early enrollees, this site would be in total hysteria about those guys going everywhere but SC. But they are locks and all on campus, thus no love for our coaching staff.
Betiku and Pittman are probably the biggest local gets. IMO, just as big as Juarez, whom BTW did not appear very dominant in the AA game, in fact looked lost.
And no praise for the current coaching staff for them. The current list of commits as of February 1, 2016, is just as impactful, Tyler Vaughns, Frank Martin and Cary Angeline are all huge gets too. But no love there either.
Most are going nutts about the Seven guys we do not have locked, Seven Guys!!??!!
Yet, when you look at the redshirts, Yikili Ross, Roy Hemsley, Daniel Imartorbhebe, Clayton Johnston, Christian Rector, Kevin Scott, and Cole Smith in addition to the incoming guys, you all should start to see serious depth.
That current depth and minimal scholarship numbers (20) are the cause for hysteria. People need to recognize that this is the last year of sanction impacts.
This year is the first time since the on-set of sanctions where our depth will be more scholarship guys than walk-ons.
No need to panic and please stop looking at the "Star Rating" system, it has never nor will it ever be an exact science, ask Dillon Baxter, Giovanni Di Poalo, Kyle Prater, George Farmer, Lamar dawson, Junior Pomee and Aundrey Walker....to name a few recent guys...
To compare stars against teams that hand out 30 schollies per year, it's never a fair fight. Pac 12 says 25 max! Deal with that.
I am very happy with the overall roster and expect that the final seven will be very good football players that want to be Trojans! Ask Ricky Towne what that means...
Be proud of the VETERAN team we have heading into 2016, and really breakdown each guy position by position. It might shock you at how much D-1 football experience those guys have. Ugly wishes they had that much experience and do not have to be dependent on young guys.
Anyway, Fight On!!! And let's celebrate the entire roster Thursday morning and don't be so selective!!!
Fight On!!
