Pete excelled at half time adjustments but Clay did a great job tonight in adjusting on the fly. Their line was eating us up in the first quarter, even before the injury to Toa, and he switched to the short outside flips to negate the rush that had been eating Kessler up in the first quarter. we ran more than we threw, which was great, and when was the last time we saw a coach at USC use timeouts as well as Clay did at the end of the first half? Granted this was Cam Smith's night (amazing) and I also think the last 8 minutes should have been utilized by Max Browne for additional experience but I loved the "balsy 4th down calls" even though I assume that they might not have occurred if he didn't have an interim tag. Great game and astound by my post from earlier last week: if Haden is still in charge and Helton goes 6-1 he is no longer the interim coach, If Haden uses his health as an excuse to step down (reasonable) it will be wide open.
