very early in the 4th Q (14:00+ mins to play) the Irish finally score a TD to cut the Clem lead to 21-9.....Kelly goes for 2 to try and cut the lead to 10...

Why chase an extra pt that early??
so, of course, late in the game, after an Irish TD and Clemson FG make the lead 24-16....a furious rally and a dramatic final min TD leaves the score at 24-22....now, they HAVE TO GO FOR TWO....the failed attempt leaves ND a 24-22 loser.....
simply kicking the extra point each time leaves them 24-24 and going to Overtime......
I, of course, shed no tears for the Irish screwing themselves, ...but a really DUMB move by a HC overthinking it, way too early.....
