USC was scheduled to host four-star defensive back Byron Murphy this weekend but Murphy has not made it Los Angeles yet.
According to ace recruiting reporter Blair Angulo, Murphy, the product of Saguaro HS in Scottsdale, Ariz. is caught up in a heated athletic contest.
"He has a basketball game tonight," Angulo said when asked why Murphy wasn't in L.A.
That doesn't exactly spell doom for the Trojans. The 5-foot-11 prospect is still trying to visit USC.
"He's definitely still planning to be here this weekend," Angulo said. "(He) just can't bail on his team tonight."
Murphy is just planning a different visit schedule, if he does makes it to USC.
"If he makes it, its late tonight or early tomorrow with a Monday departure," Angulo said.
Murphy is rated at the fourth best cornerback in the entire country.
