i just graduated in 2013 from sc and just wanted to say I couldn't disagree more with mattpcs or any of the other people calling for sark to resign. A lot of the young alums actually connected with what he was saying drunk or not and hearing his passion for pumping up the squad and just coming right out there and saying Notre dame sucks resonated. And clearly the young talent around the country and la like him. He's doing a great job of not losing the adorees or biggies or jujus of the local area to other schools, and is reeling in out of state talent who believe in him and his vision of our school like Osa or chuma.
You can say it's not just his drunkeness last night but his product on the field. I'd argue you try coaching a sanctioned team who lost jabari to open the year which caused an all american safety in Sua to drop down and also lose Josh shaw with it. So he went from having two all American veterans in the defensive backfield and a big sam to playing two true freshman in the defensive backfield, causing him not to feel confident in blitzing because they needed help which forced him to play bend don't break all season. Factor in also losing key depth on in the line in bigelow last year and he was fighting an uphill battle. Offensively he started three true freshmen on the o line, and Marcus martin leaving early screwed us even more making tuerk switch positions again so offensively he didn't have it easy.
Lastly, some of you say his teams aren't physical. Think about the players he inherited and the players he's bringing in. Kiff wanted small fast defenders, and Wilcoxs defensive scheme and recruiting clearly call for bigger guys in the front seven and press type defenders. Ya Sarao at 6'0 and felix at 6'2 230 and powell at 6'1 200 might be getting bullied. But I seriously doubt in 2016 when Gustin Osa cam and houston takeover we will be getting bullied by anyone. Not even mentioning the lines which won't be true freshman o linemen and also will be HUGE d linemen consisting of daniel jefferson green rector Scott etc.
2015 might not even be the year. But 2016 and beyond will be a physical badass squad and you can book it. As a young alum I want sark to continue dominating the local recruiting landscape, attracting national talent, saying our rivals suck, and bringing in the big bodies to get it done
