In short, when revenue sharing starts this year ($20.5 million a year and escalating per athletic dept to give to student-athletes directly), the plan for most all schools was to put most of that into football and men's basketball (and women's basketball at schools where relevant). The Dept. of Education just declared that revenue sharing still falls under Title IX guidelines of parity for men's and women's sports.
