does he really want a strong leader/personality around to challenge/usurp his awesomeness???

I think u have to question the motives of (seemingly) bright people who continually make stupid decisions on hiring and/or enabling the incompetence below them.....like a HC who wont hire quality assistants to challenge him or his position......

Regardless, Punchy has to go (but wont) becuz he is a stupid AD (and thinks he's brilliant)....
