Notes from Tuesday's player-run practice...

Chuma Edoga practiced exclusively on offense. No other offensive lineman worked out on defense today. We've learned that OL coach Neil Callaway isn't particularly keen on having his guys working on the defensive line. We'll see how things transpire over the next few weeks. USC, of course, is hoping to bring in a blueshirt D-lineman. Moreover, Clay Helton told us this past weekend he would try out other O-lineman on the defensive line as emergency options.

OG Damien Mama dinged his shoulder and left practice early.

Curious to know how heavy freshman DL Liam Jimmons is these days. He's gotten noticeably bigger since he's arrived.

Conversely, DL Kevin Scott looks like he's cut a lot of the baby fat.

OLB Jabari Ruffin appears to be in excellent shape.

Jalen Greene worked out exclusively at receiver again.

USC did 7-on-7 for 30 minutes and 11-on-11 for the following half hour. The session was held at Cromwell again.

Sam Darnold goes over the top to Tyler Vaughns. The two made it look easy. Vaughns looks a bit like Deontay Burnett, stylistically. He's just taller.

Don Hill records a TFL on a reverse to Burnett.

Jabari Ruffin gets a TFL.

Ajene Harris breaks up a deep throw from Fink to Vaughns. Walk-on safety Deion Hart was also in on the play. Looked like Matt Fink was late to Vaughns, who nearly made an acrobatic catch in traffic.

Fink goes back to a wide open Vaughns and hits him in stride.

Christian Rector joins in on the TFL action.

Uchenna Nwosu stops Aca'Cedric Ware in the backfield. He was there before Ware took the handoff.

Max Browne hits Tyler Petite up the seam.

Darnold hits Ronald Jones II in the flat.

Darnold then throws a ball he'd probably like to have back. He was looking for Isaac Whitney near the sideline but Ajene jumps the route and almost comes up with a spectacular INT. Whitney had to play defense to prevent it.

Ruffin records a sack.

Isaiah Langley had a nice pass break-up vs. Michael Pittman.

Burnett catches a short pass in space and has some fun changing directions as Ajene runs him down.

The play of the day was one of the last ones: Darnold connects downfield with Burnett, who makes a falling one-handed grab despite tight coverage from Langley. It's plays like these that make you wonder if Burnett is the second-best WR on the team. Also, Darnold didn't even need to wind up before throwing it 40-plus yards. He just flicked it.

The players will be back out here Thursday.
