Notes and observations from today's practice ...
USC is in shoulder pads and shorts, this after being in full pads the previous two days. The bye week essentially provided three extra practices.

Cody Kessler hits Steven Mitchell Jr. on the perimeter.
Kessler throws it behind JuJu Smith-Schuster, who can't hang on. JuJu was runnign a crossing route and the ball hit him in the back shoulder. JuJu would say he's got to bring that in, but Kessler really needs to lead him there.
Adoree' Jackson breaks up a pass to JuJu.
Kessler hits Jalen Greene up the seam. We've seen more of those throws from Kessler of late.
11-on-11
Marvell Tell breaks up a deep pass.
Greg Townsend Jr. registers a sack.
Kessler completes another pass to the deep middle, this time to Robby Kolanz.
Isaac Whitney catches a screen and picks up a first down. We haven't seen him targeted on those often. Perhaps a sign that he really is picking things up better. It definitely looks that way.

Max Browne hits Jalen Greene downfield.
Don Hill sacks Kessler.
Kessler hits Greene on a post.
Justin Davis, who got the bulk of the work as Tre Madden was held back, runs for a nice gain. Sark said he will look to ride the hot hand more moving forward. It's been Davis thus far in practice.

Adoree' drops a pass in the flat.
Kessler misses Whitney badly over the middle. It was a great read by Kessler, only their timing was way off. On plays like that, you really need to know the play to say who was at fault.
Osa Masina gets a sack.
Biggie Marshall and Cam Smith stuff a reverse. They were all over it.

Marshall, Antwaun Woods, Jabari Ruffin and a handful of the skill players on offense were among those that stayed around for extra work.
Practice ends 20 minutes early. Not a surprise, given that this was the team's third day in a row. Tomorrow's practice is closed to the media. We'll meet with Sark afterward.
