Notes and observations from today's practice...

USC was in shells and shorts again. Unlike Tuesday, there were few team periods, including just one brief 11-on-11 involving both first teams. The Trojans still had what seemed to be a usual amount of service periods.

RoJo took the majority of reps, with Justin Davis, Aca'Cedric Ware and Dom Davis splitting the leftovers.

Uchenna Nwosu had a pick-six against the scout team. Also, Matt Fink hit Josh Imatorbhebhe downfield, beating the coverage of Ajene Harris. On a separate field, Max Browne connected with JuJu Smith-Schuster for a long touchdown.

Center Nico Falah had his back worked on for a bit but would return.

Josh Fatu continued to get Stevie Tu'ikolovatu's reps at defensive tackle, alongside Rasheem Green. Chris Brown was the primary left guard in place of Damien Mama.

1-on-1s (OL vs. DL):
Viane Talamaivao stops Christian Rector
Jordan Simmons stops Liam Jimmons
Chris Brown stops Malik Dorton
Chuma Edoga stops Connor Murphy on consecutive reps
Zach Banner stops Wole Betiku
***
Simmons stops Fatu
Khaliel Rodgers stops Jacob Daniel
Kevin Scott beats Brown
Porter Gustin beats Chad Wheeler

As you can tell, the O-line really had its way with the D-line in this drill. Read into that what you will.

Highlights from 11-on-11:
As I mentioned, there was just one short team run today. Two plays of note: Sam Darnold hit JuJu on a nice crossing pattern downfield. Browne later hit Tyler Vaughns for a touchdown, with the throw beating Adoree' Jackson.

Coming up in They Said It: S Chris Hawkins (on a plethora of topics), LB Cam Smith and CB Adoree' Jackson.
