Notes and observations from Wednesday's practice ...

Team was in full pads again. This session was more physical than yesterday, more tackling involved. Better day for the defense, this after the offense controlled Tuesday.

1-on-1:
Isaiah Langley breaks up a pass to De'Quan Hampton.

Jalen Greene beats Matt Lopes on an outside route.

Deontay Burnett beats Marvell Tell on a crossing route.

Biggie Marshall cuts off Steven Mitchell Jr. on a fly route.

11-on-11:
Adoree' Jackson made an excellent catch against Langley, who proceeded to shove him to the ground. Jackson was a bit frustrated because it was a non-contact drill and the defenders were supposed to just shadow the offense.

Adoree' also had a pair of drops, one that might have been deflected and one that just went through his hands. He headed to defense after the latter drop. Steve Sarkisian made mention of this moment later, noting that he told Adoree' that he's going to call the same play in the game and he's going to catch it. I'd say Sark and Adoree' are very alike in that they have unflappable confidence.

***

Anthony Sarao and Greg Townsend each recorded a sack.

Delvon Simmons and Cam Smith combine to stuff Soma Vainuku.

Olajuwon Tucker pressured Kessler.

Antwaun Woods had a nice TFL on Ronald Jones II.

Jones comes back with a two hard cuts and breaks through for a long run.

***

Cody Kessler hits Tyler Petite over the middle. Petite took a shot from Tell and hung on.

JuJu Smitch-Schuster makes a great catch on the sideline. Max Browne appeared to throw it to the wrong shoulder and JuJu made a great adjustment to haul it in. He's really refined his game this offseason after being fairly raw last year.

Kessler hits Taylor McNamara for a first down.

We're continuing to see a lot of passes thrown to Tre Madden.

Practice concludes with Petite making a juggling catch. It was hard to tell from our vantage point but I think he kept his feet in bounds too. Petite has been really impressive the past few weeks.

***

Rasheem Green again increased his workload. After being held out for basically all of training camp, it's becoming clear that the staff wanted to refill his tank full before putting him on the field.

Osa Masina appeared to get more reps. He's an active player. You notice him.

USC has a closed practice Thursday. We'll meet with Sarkisian afterward.
