QB Buchner out until February. Notre Dame has Cal at home, then travel to UNC, then BYU and Stanford at home. Clemson comes to town on November 5th. All of sudden, the Irish schedule looks like a "gauntlet."

Plus, it might be 11 degrees "under the Golden Dome," when Notre Dame departs for the Coliseum in late November.
