LOS ANGELES - USC guard Jordan McLaughlin was named to the 2014-15 Pac-12 All-Freshman team, it was announced by Com- misssioner Larry Scott today (March 9).

McLaughlin , who averaged 12.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, became the first Trojan to be named to the conference All-Freshman team since Maurice Jones was selected in 2011.

The dynamic point guard McLaughlin led all Pac-12 freshman with 4.55 assists and 1.50 steals per game, was fourth in points per game and ranked in the top 10 in three-point baskets made (28). Despite missing eight games due to a shoulder injury, his 100 assists rank as ninth all-time by a Trojan freshman.

McLaughlin scored 19 points and had six assists in his collegiate debut vs. Portland State on Nov. 15 and went on to score in double figures 13 times and register six or more assists in a game nine times. He posted a season high of 24 points vs. Army on Dec. 13 and had two games with eight assists.

McLaughlin underwent successful surgery on his right shoulder on Feb. 27 and is expected to have surgery to repair his left shoulder in a few weeks. The recovery time is roughly 5-6 months and a full recovery is expected by next season.
