As a USC Trojan football fan since 1965, I have certainly lived all the upsides and downsides over 50+ years of Trojan football. Poor and great coaches have come and gone. The one certainty is that USC recruits the best players, no matter the head coach.
Back in the day, when AC Mike Garret hired Pete Carroll as the new head coach, there was unhappy grumbling for Trojan fans....but that, surprisingly, turned out well, did it not?
After the LK and SS HC debacles, our Trojans needed new HC Clay Helton to stabilize and return our program to in-your-face and beat you down at the line of scrimmage . His scheme worked against the Bruins...and whether it beats Stanford, it's no matter. Clay Helton is our new coach and I think he will do an awesome job...this year and all of the following years!
