…. Anyone who thinks this recent insanity regarding no law and order is new, hasn’t been an observer of history. It repeats itself. Like 60 years ago when the following happened: Students revolted against the norm. The stimulus then- The Vietnam war.
Racism played some part and though there were no 'Black Lives matter', factions of Black Panther and the Black Liberation party emerged. The target, as now, were Law and Order. And a privileged rich white girl took part in open bank holdups. The gal was Patty Hearst, the granddaughter of William Randolph Hearst of newspaper and Hearst's castle fame. They said she was 'brainwashed then'. And now 7 or 8 of just recent arrested rioters, vandals, arsonists were of the same ilk- brainwashed?
BLM has a more benevolent name and a reported goal of making Black Lives matter. A good goal. But actions always speak louder than words and those results are often injuries to police and citizens including those of "shared color. " The BLM have some leaders now professing aloud that they are trained Marxists. Is this what the charity-giving people want? Is the blood and property damage that comes from their attacks what they want for their money? Where are the new schools and better teachers for helping the entire USA poor communities. How about better security for all of them?
What about those wearing BLM shirts while stopping ambulances from bringing in any who were shot into the hospital and then roaring " I hope they all die"?
This country reunited after the 60-70's. They united after 9/11. They even united after the wrongful death of George Floyd, The present division makes this one seem even tougher.
