The timing of the firing is very suspicious. Gary Klein of the LAT reported this morning that there were numerous and more or less public, if not easy to confirm instances of Sarks drinking at UW. Yet Pat Haden claimed the Klein that he did his due diligence on Sark.
Clearly Pat Haden and USC did not perform their due diligence when looking at Sark. And I think that the administration got involved in forcing Haden to fire Sark.
Pat Haden is on borrowed time as AD at USC. I think all of the embarrassing incidents of the last five years have finally caught up to him. If USC is blown out by ND, Haden resigns by Monday morning. If USC wins or plays it very close, Haden is allowed a softer landing. In any event, I do not see Haden hiring the next Head Coach unless Helton goes on a magical 7-0 run, which is unlikely.
