I didn't expect much from the NCAA emails other than that "morally bankrupt" language that was in the lower court's opinion. But these emails are much more sinister and outrageous than I thought.
Best examples for me:
"Paul Dee was brought in at Miami to clean up a program with serious problems. USC has responded to its problems by bringing in Lane Kiffin."
1. Comparison to Paul Dee is a "no comment needed."
2. So USC was punished, at least in part, because of a coach that we hired 4 years after all of this stuff supposedly happened? And entirely based on what about Kiffin? His minor issues with the NCAA at Tennessee? We were punished for Kiffin's reputation. (Why not push hard against Alabama now that he's there?) Absolutely appalling.
"We need not say why we disbelieve him, we only need to let the public, or whomever, know that we do disbelieve him."
1. Outrageous. They don't need to base their findings on any evidence. They chose to rely on a gut feeling. Didn't they let a certain Auburn QB off the hook because there was no evidence that he knew what his dad was doing?
2. Notice the tone of the comment. It is one of "we can blow this past the public because they aren't paying attention." They're right but the media should really take them to task on this one.
Just had to vent. Stream of consciousness thoughts...
Also, does anyone know why there are supposedly 200 more emails that have not yet been produced?
