Drafted in the 4th round by the worst team in the NFL - Jacksonville. Got injured and did not play a single NFL down in rookie season... a little bit of an eyebrow raiser that he was waived, as I know JAX is trying to establish a new culture.
It's not lost on me that he had monetary and other considerations as well turning pro early.... but yikes, talk about an example of hindsight.
I stated at the time that him turning pro early made absolutely no sense, doubly so with no combine that year, but I had much higher aspirations for Jay in the NFL... Once thought he had 1st round potential like many on this site, if he stinks with Bengals, not inconceivable that he never sees the field at the NFL level in a regular season game.
Hopefully going from one of the forecasted worst teams in the NFL to one that barely lost SB will provide him new life... but did not see him being a practice squad guy 2 years into his career.
