Some big news from Helton's Sunday conference call.
USC and JuJu Smith-Schuster are discussing possible surgery after the wide receiver suffered a fractured hand against Cal. Coach Helton said he'd be guessing if he commented any further on Smith-Schuster's health. Helton said that sometimes, guys can return from that surgery within a couple days but that sometimes, it takes weeks for someone to make a return.
There will be a further discussion in the morning to make sure surgery is the right option.
Helton says that JuJu is not necessarily ruled out yet for the next game yet.
