There are rumors circulating that he isn’t any longer, or won’t be for much longer. If anything is happening on that front, I can confirm that it hasn’t yet. Coach Clay Helton is presently out of the country and a high-ranking official who spoke with AD Lynn Swann on Wednesday said Pendergast being dismissed was not even discussed, per sources.
While some inside the program are concerned about whether the allegations made in former assistant Rick Courtright’s lawsuit will result in Pendergast's removal, others with knowledge of the situation believe the filing won’t gain any traction in court. Whether the internal investigation will ultimately cost Pendergast his job remains to be seen.
