Just FYI. This past Friday I listened to J K at a dinner up North. He spoke that the athletic department thinks highly of Helton. whom I also got to meet.. Clay is a nice personable yet humble person who knows that his mark has to be made on the field.
J K was somehow semi defending Sark, that he is not what the talk of the town has made him to be. That is all he said re. Sark. It was obvious that he had to as a defensive mechanism for Haden. Recruiting is moving on, we had two great classes the past two years and expect this class to be as good or better.
On the light side, he said that when he and Pat Haden were being recruited by his father, they were also being recruited by Notre Dame. Pat and him were listening to both schools. Then his father called him and told him, look son, you can go anywhere you want, but I need a quarterback.
Personally, if and if USC wins the Pac 12, I would not be disappointed to retain Helton as a head coach, but frankly, I believe it may be a little too late, but we can always hope for the best, one game at a time.
Beat the Wild Cats.
