MALIBU -- Arrived just in time for the first inning. So long as a home run to right-center doesn't crack my windshield, today will be a good day.

USC is looking to snap out of a mini funk today. The Trojans have lost three of their last four overall and four of their past five Tuesday contests. The one win came three weeks ago against Pepperdine.

USC goes down quietly in the top of the first inning, failing to hit a ball out of the infield. Kyle Davis will be on the mound in the bottom half. He's 1-0 with a 5.11 ERA in nine appearances this season. Normally the closer, this will be his first start.

Davis issues the dreaded lead-off walk.

He then induces a groundball to first. Should have been two but Jeremy Martinez wasn't able to turn it over quick enough.

Garrett Stubbs nails the runner at second for the second out. Davis gets the next batter swinging.

T2: USC 0, Pepperdine 0
