Seriously, can we have a discussion about this athletic administration? Your opinion may differ but from what I've gleaned over the last few years and what others have reported about USC, "lead" by Pat Haden, USC is leaving money on the table with the PAC 12 Tv deal - not flexing our market power, and then allowing the NCAA and PAC 12 to walk all over USC with sanctions that cost tons of money to the school. And now this. How do you let the over beaurocratic, public school budget disaster across town get the jump on you for something like this?
I understand we have an ongoing deal with Nike, and I understand učla capitalizes on under armour's attempt to gain market share but seriously, how much does the current admin in Heritage Hall devalue this brand? And then we wonder why we go on the cheap to hire coaches. But never fear we are going to make up the money by issueing public seat licenses and bilking our fanbase. Great idea! Why get money through the true value of the USC brand when you can cheap out on coaches and then force the fanbase to pay more for what likely will be a cheaply built product?
Help us, Obi Swann, you're our only hope. Help us, Obi Swann, you're our only hope.
Would love to hear from someone what USC makes on their deal with Nike. Per this article, Cal went from $150,000 a year in cash from Nike to 3.5M a year and they are only getting 1/2 the deal from UA that učla is purportedly getting. That essentially subsidizes the head coaches contract in football.
