I was at Dodger Stadium and it was Lakers' Night. It also happened to be 8/24 known as Mamba Day and the 'Ko-be..,Ko-be...Ko-Be!' chants were ringing out. There were people with Kobe jerseys and T-shirts with his likeness. The Dodger promotion for Lakers' night was a reversible Magic Johnson, Clayton Kershaw jersey, which was definitely cool, but maybe even better would for it to have been a Kobe jersey. I absolutely love Magic Johnson and the crowd obviously does too, but they seemed to idolize Kobe Bryant even more.
Tidbit: As always there were sightings of SC gear there and everywhere you go. But there was also a recognizable Trojan there. The Kiss Cam caught Rodney Peete and his beautiful wife Holly Robinson-Peete and Rodney planted a good one on her.
Oh yeah, the Dodgers took the series from the Brewers with Heaney striking out 10 and Austin Barnes getting 4 RBI in the 12-6 pasting of the Brew Crew. The Dodgers are now 86-37! By far the best record in MLB. Second are the Houston Asterisks at 80-45. The Dodgers are on pace to break the franchise record of 106 wins in a season (2021 and 2019) and possibly the MLB record held by the 2001 Seattle Mariners - 116 wins. An amazing season and hopefully it culminates with the ultimate, another World Series championship.
