Cody is an amazing quarterback. He has been through hell and back when it comes to coaching changes and distractions. However, Cody is who Cody is. He is extremely efficient. Cody will rarely make mistakes and when he has the support and when the overall vibe of the team is in the positive, he can rarely be stopped.
The one area in which I feel Cody struggles in and I feel is a natural trait that cannot be developed is the simple fact of being a visual, and vocal leader. When Cody has his support system in place and things are moving, he may be the best player in the nation. However , he lacks the ability to push through adverse times. He almost doesn't know how to respond. These are the times when he displays almost no emotion, when infact in any person we should expect some emotion. Cody I feel lacks the ability to communicate in these times. I've seen hIm be mad and look at players but I never seem him leave the field on a failed drive and go communicate with other players to simply create awareness and to state his intent on fixing things. The great leaders seem to do this. When times are great, Cody is amazing when they are rough Cody lacks to ability to react emotionally, physically and mentally to impact change when on the field and the sideline.
Last, I would state that this team is visibility down as evidence by the former players speeches and "Key" having to ask for the eyes of the players to be upfront. Last night I saw A player limping on the sideline (Juju) . Half of the team, more specifically players who are not playing regularly are sitting on the bench somewhat not concerned with what is presently happening in the game.
I call for a QB change. I see things that Cody is not, in Max. When he makes a mistake, he reacts in anger. He seems focused, serious and eager for an opportunity. I don't ask for a change becuase Cody is not good. I request a change because USC needs something to inspire this team who is clearly not inspired.
Much respect and fight on!
