I traveled to the Oregon game in Eugene and I have to say that EVERYONE I encountered in duck green was quite nice and accommodating.
I parked my rental car for free at a downtown parking structure and rode their metro bus directly to the station, again for free. On the bus, I (of course) was surrounded by ducks, but there was no harshness towards my cardinal and gold clothing at all. They welcomed me and wished us luck. In fact, when we arrived at the stadium, several of them pointed out the field house where everyone gathers prior to the game and offered to buy me a drink. We had great conversation and I really enjoyed their reactions when I told them that we were hiring Chip Kelly!
I always knew that folks with a lighter skin complexion than mine, turned red in the face when they are surprised or upset. But WOW! You should have seen their faces. They turned a deeper red than the SC jersey I had on. I got the biggest kick outta that! After the butt kicking we took, no one rubbed it in or had stupid, inflammatory comments to make. Everyone I came in contact with was just as gracious after their victory as they were before kickoff.
I travel a GREAT DEAL to SC away games and have to say that the only fans I have ever encountered that displayed this much class, were the fans at Auburn when we traveled there many years ago. Thanks Ducks.
Good Luck in your civil war and in your upcoming bowl game.
