It is seldom I write about happenings in Georgia. However, this week the UGA and Atlanta communities are in mourning. Four young women, all active in student organizations, died in a tragic accident as they returned home from a Young Life group (religious) meeting.
At nine o'clock in the evening the driver of the car swerved into an oncoming vehicle and four women lost their lives. The driver is in critical condition in the hospital. There was no evidence of drugs or alcohol, according to the police investigation. All four of these young women were from families who live a few miles from our home in Marietta.
Their vehicle was hit as it crossed into the opposite lane. That driver received leg injuries, but no charges have been filed.
Two of the young women had played a song for their respective mothers as a Mother's Day surprise. It is on social media and heartbreaking to watch.
