My brother-in-law Tim Edwards just published a book on Amazon entitled Manpower Pool. The book is only available for a Kindle and costs only $2.99. If you are into police and suspense type books, give it a read. It is only $2.99. I just finished it and think it is quite good. Tim was a Sherriff Deputy himself and brings a lot of his knowledge to the book. He lives in Simi Valley and also brings a lot of interesting facts about the area. For instance, Simi Valley was once known as Simiopolis. If you buy it and like it, please pass this information along to your friends; I know he would appreciate it.
The storyline is about an L.A. Deputy, and LAPD detective who are roommates and have a business together. Sean Donnelly, the lead character is also in the Coast Guard reserves. They, Sean and Mark, end up working a case together along with an FBI agent. It partially centers around a dirty bomb threat to Los Angeles and partially around the nuclear meltdown that happened at Rocketdyne atop the Simi Hills. The meltdown actually happened and is thought to have release more than 200 times the radiation into the atmosphere than that of Three Mile Island. The day he finished the writing a couple weeks ago, Channel 4 did an expose’ on the meltdown: http://data.nbcstations.com/national/KNBC/la-nuclear-secret/
