So here's the thing--if you let this thing marinate, you are going to make the situation worse. The terrorist assholes will point to this despicable act as proof that they can hurt you in your capital city, and you will do little more than drop a couple of bombs from some airplanes. The would-be terrorist recruits will be emboldened. "Look, these guys can strike at the very heart of the West, and the Christians will only cry and lick their wounds." ISIS will use this as a recruiting tool, and they will be successful at doing so.
What France and other Western countries need to do is to mobilize en mass and go in and wipe these guys out immediately. Show any would-be jihadist that terror doesn't pay. You kill one of ours, and you will know nothing but pain, sorrow, and death. All of the Western countries can learn a thing or two from Israel. Survival is serious business that can't be won by idealists and isolationists.
