I subscribe to the Sunday L.A. Times, not for the sports section, but more for other things plus the crossword puzzle. But this morning, the Sports lead article was written by none other than Plaschke, and Plaschke was faced with writing a article about SC's Big Win.

This, to BP, is harder than passing a kidney stone. So, in extreme pain, Mr. P. wrote the most negative article about a big SC win in the history of SC football, as I know it. It was a marvelous display of how to turn a positive into a negative, or a lot of negatives in this case.

Mr. Plaschke went to great pains (literally) to point out how bad our first two opponents were, and of course, completely ignoring the fact that Arkansas St. almost beat SEC pillar, Mizzou, yesterday. Needless to say, he skirted Ucla playing feared UNLV, and Rosen getting wet trying to walk on water.

The Plaschke thing is worth reading simply because he proved, once again, that if you have an agenda, no matter how specious your argument, you can make a purse out of a sow's ear.
