News updates from Tuesday's practice:

DT Noah Jefferson (back) did individuals for the first time since Week 1. Coach Clay Helton said he will be worked into team periods before the end of spring, perhaps this week.

OT Chad Wheeler (ankle) also did individuals and Michael Pittman (collarbone) also did individuals.

OT Chuma Edoga (wrist) was a limited participant in team drills.

Ajene Harris worked a bit at cornerback and Jordan Simmons at right tackle. Helton said the two are familiarizing themselves there as emergency options. (He noted JuJu Smith-Schuster is another player he'd consider in such an emergency capacity but won't explore that this spring because of his nagging hamstring.) USC is currently shorthanded at tackle and in the secondary but have CB reinforcements coming in the fall.

S John Plattenburg (ankle) and CB Jonathan Lockett (concussion) were out.

Helton said he feels like he has a legitimate three deep at tight end given the growth of Daniel Imatorbhebhe and Tyler Petite.

I asked Helton if we would see QB Sam Darnold get more first-team reps moving forward (he got a handful today). Helton said he would while noting Darnold and Max Browne are playing at a high level. My feeling is there will still be a notable disparity in first-team reps between the two.

More details coming in Footnotes.
