Notes from Wednesday's practice...
Adoree' Jackson worked exclusively on offense and did Adoree' things. (See Footnotes)
Justin Davis needed assistance to get his jersey off late in practice and trainers immediately put an ice pack on his right shoulder. Sark, who might not have been aware, said Davis hurt his finger.
Claude Pelon briefly exited practice with an ice pack on his right knee. He returned but did not practice. Sark said Pelon has a sprained right knee and will have a scope done, which will keep him out for some time.
Sark announced tight end Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick will not play this season because of academics.
Kevon Seymour (knee) was mostly limited to warm-ups. He briefly participated in 7-on-7 and came up gimpy after getting beat for a TD. Knee definitely isn't right yet.
Viane Talamaivao (hamstring) returned to practice.
Noah Jefferson, who's been limited with an elbow injury for most of camp, participated in team drills.
Lamar Dawson (ribs) and Quinton Powell (concussion) remained out.
Jordan Simmons did not practice because of swelling in his knee.
Sark said kicker Matt Boermeester is out with a hip pointer.
For the second consecutive practice, Wyatt Schmidt got all the field goal reps. He made three of five, all from long distance. Interestingly, Sark said Schmidt is not part of the kicking competition at this time.
Alex Wood kicked off and attempted the lone extra point of practice.
USC will practice again this evening. It is closed to the media and public. The next open practice is Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
