Notes from Thursday's closed practice ...
Clay Helton said Tre Madden (knee) will play vs. UCLA. "It's not going to be in a dramatic role of 40, 50 plays. But he's a guy that I think we'll be able to steal 12-15 plays in some special situations in this game."
Helton on JuJu Smith-Schuster's injuries: "He's got everything. He's got hand, ankle, knee. He's got it all. It's week 12 and I just appreciate him for being the warrior that he is. He's beat up. You wouldn't be able to tell when he steps on the field but he's a beat up person right now."
Helton said every player will be having Thanksgiving meals with either their families, teammates or coaches. Helton said he'll host a couple grad assistants and potentially a couple players (he wouldn't say who).
Helton said USC's keys to beating UCLA are winning the battle in the trenches and outrushing them.
