News updates from today's practice ...

Cam Smith's MRI results came back negative and he was full-go. He will play with a brace on his injured shoulder that he says isn't too restrictive. "I got motion all over. It just kind of keeps me to the point."

Smith said the shoulder pain stems from an old injury that he suffered while on an inner tube in eighth grade. He said it might require offseason shoulder surgery, which is something he plans to discuss with team doctors.

JuJu Smith-Schuster (hand) again remained very limited today.

Khaliel Rodgers hurt his shoulder near the end of practice. Clay Helton said it bothers him from time to time. Viane Talamaivao and Nico Falah stayed after practice to work on snapping.

Claude Pelon was carted off the field at the end of practice. We don't know what the exact injury is. He initially limped off during the special teams period, so he might have reaggravated his knee. I asked USC for an update and was told we'll get one tomorrow.

Tre Madden (knee) got some reps in the scout and team periods.

Kevon Seymour went down briefly before the end of practice and limped away. He later appeared fine, though, as he was one of four defensive backs to stay after practice to work on footwork (Adoree' Jackson, Chris Hawkins, Ykili Ross).

Jackson practiced exclusively on defense for the second consecutive day.

Jonathan Lockett (groin) increased his workload. Helton expects that he'll play vs. Colorado.

Leon McQuay (knee) was a light participant in team drills. Helton said he might be a game-time decision.

John Houston Jr., who's been dealing with a strained back, did not practice.

Ajene Harris took some reps at defensive back during scout team.
