News updates from today's practice ...

Uchenna Nwosu took extended reps at weakside linebacker and says he will be playing inside vs. Oregon. He was primarily grouped with Olajuwon Tucker. Nwosu played inside for parts of the Cal game. What I like about Nwosu is that he's decisive. He had a nice tackle at the line of scrimmage on Aca'Cedric Ware.

Osa Masina also saw an increase in reps and was paired with Anthony Sarao. Michael Hutchings also got more reps.

Su'a Cravens said he would probably take some snaps at inside linebacker vs. Oregon. He played there briefly vs. Cal.

Jonathan Lockett worked exclusively at safety.

Chris Brown was the first-team right guard in Viane Talamaivao's absence. Brown said he weighs 305 pounds, which isn't light but can look like it compared to the others at his position. Something to keep in mind: he's taken a lot of practice reps alongside Khaliel Rodgers but not as many with Zach Banner.

Talamaivao (knee) did not practice today.

Leon McQuay (knee) remained sidelined.

Tre Madden (knee) did not practice. Helton said last week he might be out this week.

Adoree' Jackson practiced only on defense today. He stayed around for extra work after practice, along with Kevon Seymour and Biggie Marshall.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, who's been very limited in practice since fracturing his hand, was more involved in team periods.

Sam Darnold had a great throw over the top of the D to Caleb Wilson for a touchdown.

Coming up in They Said It: Su'a Cravens, Uchenna Nwosu, Chris Borwn, Bob Connelly and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
