Ricky Town reportedly wants to play for a pro-style offense.(USATSI)
Former USC quarterback Ricky Town could be landing with a new program "in less than a week," andtwo SEC schools are in the running for his services, according to 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong.
Wiltfong has identifiedArkansasandFloridaas two programs in contention for Town, a former four-star recruit and Top 50 overall prospect in the Class of 2015.
Town originally committed to Alabama in 2013, when the Tide's offensive coordinator was Doug Nussmeier. Several other reports, including one fromYahoo! Sports' Charles Robinsonand another fromBleacher Report's Jordan Schultz, have cited the Town-Nussmeier relationship as a reason for the quarterback's interest in Florida, where Nussmeier is now the offensive coordinator under Jim McElwain.
Arkansas, like Florida, also has a pro-style offense that fits Town's skill set and is not included on the list of schools USC has blocked: any Pac-12 school, Alabama, Arkansas State, Idaho, UNLV, Notre Dame, Utah State, Western Michigan, Texas and BYU.
