After rich rodriguez was fired he made some statements that really made me think. And i think maybe a lot of the other pac 12 coaches thought the same thing. Maybe they did not read their head coaching contracts correctly before signing.
Rich rod said that he thought that he was only hired as the OC for az. He never knew until after he was fired that he was hired to be the head coach which included coaching the defense. Although he did remember that his office sent out a paycheck to somebody who was listed as the offensive coordinator. He never understood why because he thought that was his job alone. He figured it was just an accounting error. In fact, he said that he never even knew there was a thing called defense in football.
Obviously I am being over the top with this, but I wish the pac 12 would hire some great defensive minds as head coaches. It is just gets embarrassing when we get pushed around in our conference. And that includes usc. I literally seems like the coaches put no effort into coaching good defense.
