Well Lvloanpro I have to wonder if Sark "only had two beers" why he is going to rehab for a drinking problem? I love lvloanpro as much as anyone, but in defending Sarks shenanigans is unworthy of him. He also could not have it more wrong.
1)The press conference was a flat out disaster, Sark was sad and pathetic and anyone would be moved by the fact that his life and behavior have spun out of control..but how does this qualify him to be the best man to coach USC football. If he pulled his stunts at the local jr high, he would be fired as coach, but he should coach SC??? To use a favorite word around here its absurd
2)My first post on the subject said that the guy is out of control, has a drinking(also meds??) problem and needs to seek rehab. . I was blasted for this but HE IS NOW ENTERING REHAB FOR A DRINKING PROBLEM!. Its EXACTLY what i said he needed to do, even if Haden is putting him there. Whether he goes to an outpatient program or is suspended/leave of absence, the people who he works for think he needs rehab..what is the confusion on this point?
3)NOBODY goes to rehab for a "couple of beers) thats silly, absurd, and frankly clueless. You go to rehab because you have an alcohol and or drug problem, and your life has spun out of control.Lvloanpro, Sarks enablers and Sark himself don't want to face the truth..Sarks lies/delusions that "i didn't drink that much(OMG) and that "i dont think I have a problem" are just more of the same. I'd have more respect for the guy if he just said he did and he KNOWS he needs help.
4)I don't HATE Sark I just don't respect him as a man or a coach. His shenanigans off the field have been known for years, why should he be respected? On the field he has proven to be pitiful against good teams ..whats his lifetime record vs Oregon and UCLA...Hell he couldnt even beat sad sack BC with a nice lead. Hes a great recruiter and I have always given him that..but his track record is mediocre/weak and hes running the best program in the country for one reason..the shine of the Great Pete Carroll and his ability to charm/con the hapless Pat Haden.
When this went down, I said he made a drunken fool of himself(check) appeared to be angry and intoxicated at practice(just two beers? really! throwing water bottles at the heads of players???) 3)and that he needed professional help for his obvious drinking problem(Check his headed to rehab)
If this is upsetting to the board, I'm sorry. but the "two beers" explanation has proven to be somewhat ridiculous considering Sark is getting ready to fill out paperwork for hazeltine or wherever he must go to dry out.
I don't hate Sark I think he is an unfit coach. Who thinks after all this that he is the best man in the country to coach SC, still believes that?
