Sark in Damage Control Mode

I read his thoughts on the game and was really disappointed.

That was pretty weak damage control even for sark. He acted like stanford just won a few keys plays against our d. I did not see that many key plays from them. Just about every play they ran got solid positive yardage. Yes, they won some keys 3rd downs, but they won battles on 1st and 2nd too. Lots of 5 to 10 yards runs and pass plays. Execution was not that much of a problem on d. Sark even said that we were in the correct alignment and scheme for what they were running most of the time. He did comment that they ran some things against us that we had never seen before from them. So what. Then why why not run some things against them that have never seen before from us. It is an equal opportunity for each team to out scheme and out physical the other team. Sark acts like there was nothing we could have done about that.

It was definitely not so much about execution. We were in the right position, but Stanford just pushed our defensive players back 5 yards. Or they held their pass blocking assignments until someone was open or until hogan saw an opening to run. And when Stanford ran or caught the ball they ran around us, through us and broke numerous tackles and always fell forward for 3 extra yards. It was like the second coming of lendale white. But it was easy for them to get these solid gains because we could not shed their blocks. Kind of hard to tackle someone when you are being pushed around. Sark might call it being bullied. So I guess we did not execute shedding blocks and making tackles. Come on sark, call it like it is. Our d was pushed around by Stanford.

If he wants to talk about the positive he can say that we moved the ball on them as well. And we were scoring at will the few times we had the ball. No problem.

And his final lame analysis of the last 2 minutes. "They were in some coverages that we had not seen before". So what. Send hampton, whitney and juju 10 to 25 yards downfield and throw into double coverage. You need two scores. You have to go downfield. You are going to lose anyway. Throw a 12 yarder to adoree and maybe he can break a big play. And if you do have to throw one underneath, call a timeout. He just did not want the score to be any worse so he did not chance cody throwing an int. You have more than 2 minutes and timeouts. Try to go 10 to 15 yards per play. 5 yard plays do nothing. That was embarrassing that sark just gave up and did not fight on.

But most of all, it was very disappointing that sark did not address the issues and just simply said that we have to execute better.
