Just recently the ACC and SEC have instituted an added review to such things as TDs. The erratically called "targeting" penalty, often affecting the game on miscalls are now subject to requested reviews by coaches, or even refs. This means that the sometimes devastating miscalls (especially on 3rd down plays) can be reviewed by a local official or by a central unit somewhere else, as Baseball and Hockey uses.
I'm all for this since USC seems to be on the short side of the stick by reputation if nothing else. Add in the overzealous penalty-flagging PAC-12 units and its a no-brainer and should make the PAC-12 refs think twice instead of calling every call.
At the same time some coaches can abuse this so maybe the alliances system of one bad challenge a quarter or even half should be also enforced IMO. What's your thoughts?
