According to a source close to the situation, Marques Tuiasosopo will be leaving USC for another coaching opportunity.

Tuiasosopo has spent seven years in the college coaching ranks. He began his career at Washington as an assistant strength coach before becoming an intern at UCLA and eventually being promoted to tight ends coach with the Bruins.

He returned to Washington after his stint at UCLA and was named quarterbacks coach for a season, and even played the role of interim head coach for the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl as Steve Sarkisian was named head coach at USC.

He then followed Sarkisian to the Trojans and was named tight ends coach/ associate head coach for the offense. He held that title for until the 2015 season when Sarkisian was fired. After that, he was named USC's quarterbacks coach to finish the season.

Prior to his time as a coach, Tuiasosopo was a quarterback for Washington from 1997-2000. He was the 2000 Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year and 2001 Rose Bowl MVP as a quarterback at Washington. He set UW's career total offense record as he passed for 5,879 yards and 33 touchdowns while rushing for 1,495 yards with 21 TDs. He also had an extensive NFL career from 2001-2008, spending all but one of those seasons with the Oakland Raiders (in 2007, he played for the New York Jets.)

By losing Tuiasosopo, the Trojans are losing a fierce recruiter. Tuiasosopo has helped build highly ranked recruiting classes at every college program he's coached for.
