There is a lot of ink being spilled over how great Rosen played in is first game as a true freshman. And it is true that QB is the hardest position on the field to play so when you play well under those circumstances you deserve the accolades. But, the coaches control what the QB is asked to do, and that is important context. There isn't nearly enough talk about Cam Smith playing QB for the defense in his first game as a true freshman. I thought he was hugely impressive, tying for the team lead in tackles, against what by all accounts is a pretty high powered offense. And the thing about playing MLB, as a true frosh or anything else is there is no where to hide. You are literally in the middle of the defense and if you're not getting it done you can take the other 10 guys with you. In some respects that makes it even harder than quarterback for a young player. So Fight On Cam! and Fight On to the coaches for getting him ready to play so well.
