And we have the district pleasure of his services at 2+ million a year. The latest: two issues here 1) why are we even considering Jimbo Fisher and 2) why are we contacting other ADs when that's an outdated practice that puts us at a disadvantage. I feel like Haden is akin to the British in the Revolutionary War. Still politely lining up and utilizing an outdated strategy of decorum and lined up organization while others fight a modern winner takes all style. It didn't work against the NCAA - this passive wimpy approach - and it ain't gonna work in a competitive coaching search. Sigh. So much incompetence.

A potential hang-up, according to those familiar with the Trojans' search, is Haden's insistence on asking athletic directors for permission to speak to candidates. Agents and coaches say that philosophy has become increasingly obsolete in today’s aggressive age of coaching searches. At minimum, that tactic delays the search process. For obvious reasons, it also can create tension with between the coach and his current bosses.
