Yes, yes, I know --- Cody Kessler throws too many balls to JuJu. But I would too, if I had JuJu to throw to. Schuster has improved considerably from last year when he was a very young freshman. He has eliminated some of the rough edges from last year and as a result he has become a fantastic wide receiver who has a mean streak --- I love it. Time after time during the Idaho game JuJu would catch a quick pass from Cody and then charge into the cornerback "trying" to cover him. And time after time, JuJu would carry the cornerback several yards backwards. Almost every time JuJu would gain a first down. I can't tell you how exciting it was to see JuJu demonstrate his strength, his determination, his willingness to bang his body against the overwhelmed opponent. I wish we had 11 JuJu Smith-Schusters on the field at one time. He is quite a player and we are incredibly lucky to have him on our team.
And by the way, as you guys know, he not only bullies his way for extra yards on short passes, he not only does an excellent job downfield blocking, but he is also a great downfield threat when Cody unloads one. I can't wait to see what JuJu comes up with against Stanford this Saturday. And the Coliseum better be a loud, raucous, sellout Saturday evening. I'm sure it will be.
This is my 1,000th post. I wanted it to be a little special, just like JuJu is.
Fight On!
