Iman Marshall
He has to fix some mistakes
“I had a couple of mishaps tonight. So that’s why I have to go in the lab, see what I messed up on and fix it for next time.”
Stanford took advantage of USC’s mistakes
“They just executed on our mishaps. There’s no pointing fingers, it’s a team effort when we mess up. We just have to go in the film room and see what we have to do next time. Look at the film and see what we have to work on for next week.”
USC didn’t play their best game
“We understand we ain’t invincible. We’re all human and we have to come out there and bring our all, bring our best. Because everybody is going to bring their best for us. Each and every week we have to come motivated for the possibility that somebody is bringing their A-game when they play us.”
The defense should take some blame
“We just didn’t execute, especially the defensive side of the ball. The offensive side of the ball did their thing.”
Still motivated for USC’s future
“It’s a new day, you can’t harp on the past, because now you have to work towards the future. I think we have a high ceiling, we had a lot of spurts out there on the offensive side of the ball. The quarterback was playing a hell of a game, JuJu had a hell of a game, Adoree’, a lot of people out there were playing a hell of a game. We just have to finish most importantly.”
Viane Talamaivao
USC didn’t execute
“We kind of shot ourselves in the foot. That’s not taking anything away from Stanford, it was a good win for them. We just have to execute better, we had some missed opportunities on offense and defense.”
Offense needs to take blame
“This game tonight is not all on the defense. There’s missed opportunities everywhere. At the end of the day, we’re in it together.”
Offensive line performance was decent
“I we think we did solid for most of the night. It was just critical situations were we should have executed on certain plays. We just didn’t get that done tonight but we have a long way to go.”
USC can still grow as a team
“The season’s not over. It’s just beginning and these are lessons. We can only grow from here and learn from this experience.”
Kenny Bigelow
He believes USC beat itself
“They capitalized on a couple of our mistakes. I don’t think Stanford beat us tonight. I think they made the most out of our missed opportunities.”
Stanford capitalized on key moments
“I think we held the running backs to about 40 yards in the first half. I think the quarterback got outside of us a couple of times and that really opened up their offense for them. There’s nothing they did to us physically. I don’t think they beat us up, up front, I just think they made the most out of some missed opportunities by us.”
A few things hurt USC
“Penalties hurt us, the quarterback had a couple big scrambles. There was nothing they did to us that we weren’t expecting. Or nothing they did to us that we couldn’t handle. It’s just them getting outside of us at crucial times. They converted a couple big third downs. I really think that helped them.”
The team has to move forward
“It’s always frustrating not getting the outcome that you want. It’s always frustrating when you work and it didn’t go the way as planned. But that’s football and that’s this game. Now when it didn’t go the way you wanted it to, it’s about who’s going to fight the longest. And we’re willing to fight back and we’re willing to go into the next week with an open mind. It’s going to hurt, it’s going to sit with us tonight, come Monday, we’re going and we have to move forward.”
The team was prepared
“We work our asses off all week long and tonight the cards didn’t fall the way we wanted them to.”
