I think Sark is the guy and is taking the time in the right direction aka going back to pounding the ball on O/using the tight end, and getting bigger in the front seven on D and playing more man w/ DBs.. but I feel strongly that messing with Osa or Porter at tight end is a mistake. Let them develop on D, it's what you recruited them for. They both can be game changers in the front seven, and there needs to be physical talent on defense too. You cant keep moving over pieces to play on the O. Juju could have been solid at safety, talks of adoree already taking some reps off D so he can get a breather, now moving Osa/Porter.. I hate seeing it. How much more depth do we need at tight end?

1. Taylor Mcnamara - 6'5 245 Fourth year Junior. 4 star US Army All American who suffered a shoulder injury at Ok his freshmen year.Transfer tape he looks fast and big and like a solid blocker and savvy route runner. With even more motivation to prove himself at a new school he should be fun to watch.

2. Connor Spears - 6'6 240 Transfer from columbia. Big step up in competition but he has the size and has apparently been making plays in Spring so far. Another big body who should learn to block and get stronger in the next six months. Sark said he has "enough" speed to make plays. So even if he's not the number 1 receiving option at tight end he is still solid and when surrounded with a great receiving core and o line and running game he shouldnt exactly be keyed in on anyways.

3. Tyler Petite - 6'6 235. Will probably be 240 by season. Has all the skills to be an effective weapon in the passing game especially since teams will have to key in on our other options first.

4. Caleb Wilson 6-6 220 and getting bigger. 8 touchdowns in 4 games when moved to tight end. Has Qb smarts, and a basketball history. Huge upside and not a bad 4th option.

5. Jalen Cope Fitzpatrick - Could still be eligible come fall. 4th year Junior. 6'4 245. Can block and be dependable in the passing game.

6. Bryce Dixon - who knows. hoping

7. Chris Wilson - granted that sixth year.. still waiting.

Bottom Line
At the very minimum we will have 4 tight ends next year in McNamara, Spears, Petite, Wilson. They all have big bodies and two are old enough and should be strong enough to be effective blockers. The other two freshmen are very big as well and who's to say they can't be impact players? Best case scenario we get potentially 1-3 more tight ends with loads of talent in JCF/Bryce/Wilson back.

With a minimum of 4 and a max of 7 players at one positions... why would we dare move a guy like Osa or Porter who have the potential to be All Pac/All American in the front seven on defense to play a couple of random downs on offense next season? It makes no sense to stunt their development on defense and IMO would look bad as they weren't sold for over a year on coming to SC to play tight end, but instead were sold on coming in to compete on defense
