Tre Madden had hoped to close out spring participating in contact drills. He told us Tuesday that's not going to happen. His activity has increased each week, and he hasn't looked rusty running the ball. But he's still experiencing some pain from last year's injury to his sesamoid bone.
"I'm still working through some kinks, but it's feeling better every week," he said. "I get the itch, but it's spring so I'm just trying to stay healthy. I'm hungry now but just trying to play it smart."
Madden looked especially good today catching passes out of the backfield.
"I feel like I'm a well-rounded back and sure-handed," he said. "Working in 7-on-7 is making me better at that."
